The Egg
By: Andy Weir
You were on your way home when you died.
It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.
And that’s when you met me.
“What… what happened?” You asked. “Where am I?”
“You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words.
“There was a… a truck and it was skidding…”
“Yup,” I said.
“I… I died?”
“Yup. But don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies,” I said.
You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?”
“More or less,” I said.
“Are you god?” You asked.
“Yup,” I replied. “I’m God.”
“My kids… my wife,” you said.
“What about them?”
“Will they be all right?”
“That’s what I like to see,” I said. “You just died and your main concern is for your family. That’s good stuff right there.”
You looked at me with fascination. To you, I didn’t look like God. I just looked like some man. Or possibly a woman. Some vague authority figure, maybe. More of a grammar school teacher than the almighty.
“Don’t worry,” I said. “They’ll be fine. Your kids will remember you as perfect in every way. They didn’t have time to grow contempt for you. Your wife will cry on the outside, but will be secretly relieved. To be fair, your marriage was falling apart. If it’s any consolation, she’ll feel very guilty for feeling relieved.”
“Oh,” you said. “So what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something?”
“Neither,” I said. “You’ll be reincarnated.”
“Ah,” you said. “So the Hindus were right,”
“All religions are right in their own way,” I said. “Walk with me.”
You followed along as we strode through the void. “Where are we going?”
“Nowhere in particular,” I said. “It’s just nice to walk while we talk.”
“So what’s the point, then?” You asked. “When I get reborn, I’ll just be a blank slate, right? A baby. So all my experiences and everything I did in this life won’t matter.”
“Not so!” I said. “You have within you all the knowledge and experiences of all your past lives. You just don’t remember them right now.”
I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders. “Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had.
“You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. If we hung out here for long enough, you’d start remembering everything. But there’s no point to doing that between each life.”
“How many times have I been reincarnated, then?”
“Oh lots. Lots and lots. An in to lots of different lives.” I said. “This time around, you’ll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD.”
“Wait, what?” You stammered. “You’re sending me back in time?”
“Well, I guess technically. Time, as you know it, only exists in your universe. Things are different where I come from.”
“Where you come from?” You said.
“Oh sure,” I explained “I come from somewhere. Somewhere else. And there are others like me. I know you’ll want to know what it’s like there, but honestly you wouldn’t understand.”
“Oh,” you said, a little let down. “But wait. If I get reincarnated to other places in time, I could have interacted with myself at some point.”
“Sure. Happens all the time. And with both lives only aware of their own lifespan you don’t even know it’s happening.”
“So what’s the point of it all?”
“Seriously?” I asked. “Seriously? You’re asking me for the meaning of life? Isn’t that a little stereotypical?”
“Well it’s a reasonable question,” you persisted.
I looked you in the eye. “The meaning of life, the reason I made this whole universe, is for you to mature.”
“You mean mankind? You want us to mature?”
“No, just you. I made this whole universe for you. With each new life you grow and mature and become a larger and greater intellect.”
“Just me? What about everyone else?”
“There is no one else,” I said. “In this universe, there’s just you and me.”
You stared blankly at me. “But all the people on earth…”
“All you. Different incarnations of you.”
“Wait. I’m everyone!?”
“Now you’re getting it,” I said, with a congratulatory slap on the back.
“I’m every human being who ever lived?”
“Or who will ever live, yes.”
“I’m Abraham Lincoln?”
“And you’re John Wilkes Booth, too,” I added.
“I’m Hitler?” You said, appalled.
“And you’re the millions he killed.”
“I’m Jesus?”
“And you’re everyone who followed him.”
You fell silent.
“Every time you victimized someone,” I said, “you were victimizing yourself. Every act of kindness you’ve done, you’ve done to yourself. Every happy and sad moment ever experienced by any human was, or will be, experienced by you.”
You thought for a long time.
“Why?” You asked me. “Why do all this?”
“Because someday, you will become like me. Because that’s what you are. You’re one of my kind. You’re my child.”
“Whoa,” you said, incredulous. “You mean I’m a god?”
“No. Not yet. You’re a fetus. You’re still growing. Once you’ve lived every human life throughout all time, you will have grown enough to be born.”
“So the whole universe,” you said, “it’s just…”
“An egg.” I answered. “Now it’s time for you to move on to your next life.”
And I sent you on your way.

glossy lips ain't look good on you
I, who never meant to be this know-all lady, have told them for like so many times. It's for their fucking health. I just try to be nice by telling them this, but apparently they choose not to hear me. Yes I know, they might think like 'who are you? it's my food and you have nothing to do with it because it's not your fucking business' but hello people, because I CARE about you and your life I don't want you to spend your money on things that will make you spend more money on paying those hospital bills or something. It's true! I just told my friends -those who I think I love- I never told people I don't know, not because I don't care about them, but simply because I don't have the right to make the seller stops earning money. So, could you please listen to me this time only, those yellow-ish thing that makes your lips look glossy will kill you. It will. Cancer, cholesterol, or other diseases I don't know. If you buy it for the sake of getting cheap foods, why don't you bring foods from home? Some healthy snacks from your mummy are much better. I don't care about what people say about my homey snacks, at least I won't end up at hospital. So if you are smart enough, I guess you can choose.
Again I say I don't have right to force you not to buy things you want, but I suggest you to think before buying them. I have decided to be allergic to them, and I hope, you don't eat them anymore, or at least not in front of me. Thanks for your cooperative I appreciate that!
It's your life, fellas! but please think about it because you can do better without it!
-Cheers!

new year 'new' me
i feel like sometimes i wanna study, i know that sounds a bit weird, but yeah srsly i sometimes want to study! (damn how hard is it for you to believe?) i even think that i should pray more often, like wake up in the middle of the night for tahajud besides completing my 5-times a day praying (right, i know i deserved 90 for religion :) but, uh well i think i will do that later. im now concentrating on having enough sleep because i have to wake up in like 5 everyday. dont let me complaining now!
the other 'obstacle' comes from internet. like srsly i decided to stay off of facebook for a while, failed. to reduce the time of using internet, i can say it also failed. and yeah, now i rlly need to reduce my internet time, facey is okay but i promise i wont use it that often. so yeah i better keep my promise or i will get something bad.. not really.
this is awkward, i sound like ive changed so much (in the studying case). its new year i know, but for a lazy ass like me? my parents shouldve been proud of having an awesome kid like me! lol i even hope that this will last long, like after the final exams stuff ill still have this 'spirit' and stuff, but oh well. i really hope ill get a good result in april 1st, so that i dont have to study for simak and other things. *keep my fingers crossed*
and i promise if im accepted at one of the colleges i applied for in the states i will learn to dance tari topeng or other indonesian traditional dance! take this for serious.
happy studying nerdies!

If I were a ............
thats what people always think about. idk maybe thats just so human, like, always want what other people have instead of being grateful of what they already have. and I, as a human, sometimes also do that. and here are my "If I..." lists.
1. If i were a pilot, i might be able to go everywhere in the world.
but, i would have no time for seeing my family and friends.
2. If i were a doctor, i would be rich and be able to cure millions of peoples disease.
but i kinda scared of blood and could easily throw up when seeing something 'disgusting'
3. If i were a teacher, i would teach many students. and if the students became a succesful person in the future, itd be great to be someone behind 'someone'.
but, i sometimes ignored the teachers when theyre saying something i dont like. and itd be possible for them to ignore me too. it wouldnt be good to be ignored. (then why am i ignoring teachers?? ooh sorry :| )
4. If i were a superstar, i would be famous, gotta know many important people, living glamorously, would have a brand new car, and would have everything i want.
but i gad to say good bye to my privacy. well privacy is priceless, i wont change it into anything.
5. If i were a mother, i would be the happiest woman on earth when seeing my children grew up and became good men.
no buts for this one.
6. If i were a president, i might be the busiest person on earth. i would meet many important persons from every single country in the world, and would be one of the most important person alive.
but i would have no time for, shopping? going to mall with family and friends? hahah, and other unimportant-but-fun thingy.
7. If i were a businesswoman, i would build some companies and would be very rich.
and i dont know what the buts are cause i really wanna be a businesswoman. [=
well, so far, ive got the point. its like, no matter who you are, what you are, there will always be consequences for everything. just depends on how you see it, from the good or bad side. well your life, your decision! just make sure you think a lot before decide a thing.
!@#!$ idk why im posting this. ha! C:

things between indonesia and malaysia
i just hate it when people here say 'i hate malaysia'. okay, seems like many reasons make it possible for us, indonesians, to hate them. like, the terrorist stuff, dr. azahari or so, came from malaysia. the reog ponorogo and other indonesian cultures being stolen, and the sipadan and ligitan islands, and now the ambalat island plus the violence from kelantan royal. well i personally believe that its very very not fair to judge all malaysians are bad or having criminal minds or else. okay lets describe it one by one, why i dont like people to stereotype all malaysians.
first, the terrorist. i think nobody in this world wants such a thing like war or bomb or whatever it is. we ALL want peace. (except the selfish ones who want the world becomes like what they want). but im pretty sure Malaysians didnt want it to be happened just as we didnt want it too. like, if they were planning on all of these, like wanted to make all people other than islam dissapear (thats all i know about it. and im Muslim, im Islam, and i REALLY dont want it. and so do other moslems i believe), why they chose Indonesia? WHY??? we all know Indonesia is a country with the biggest Muslims population. so i think its not fair to say malaysians wanted to destroy indonesia because theyre jealous with us. i mean, seriously, why indonesia which is so close to them. sooo, its NOT because of it. its just the unresponsible ones job :(
and next, our cultures being 'stolen' by them. well, who doesnt know that our cultures are similar to theirs? and i have a malaysian friend, who is a javanese just like me. so whats the difference? i mean, it is a lesson for us to keep what we have as well. dont regret anything, just move on and see what we can do next. (we had this -things-being-stolen- for like ages. after the artsy thingy, the islands). well i myself think i cant do anything ut support the govt. and so do others i think, and so do malaysians. so we are similar!! why should we hate them?
and, the violence and abuse thingy seem make it all become worse. like, hellooooo? it all comes back to them individually. again i say dont stereotype people like that. the violence can happen to everyone everywhere. still remember the ''lisa face-off' case? shes the victim of violence, by his husband, an indonesian man. see? why people do not hate indonesians? because theyre indonesians too? and the kelantan royal? because theyre NOT indonesians, we can hate them? omg that sounds so racist. haha thats funny to say 'racist', because we have the same race with them. so whats that? i dont know but all i know is, we have to put away our prejudice.
so, i am indonesian, i havent been to malaysia before, but i proudly say i do not hate malaysia. i have many malaysians friends. theyre nice. as nice as indonesians friends, and so many others from wherever they are. maybe many of the problems we have are way more political. or also more private. but it makes it getting 'hot' between these 2 countries. so people, who claimed their selves 'malaysians hater' or whatsoever the name is, please look around. isnt there anything you can do beside criticize anything related to malaysia? or, are you good enough to judge something is wrong or bad? well, lets spread the love and the peace. love for all hatred for none :D
